“Be who you are and say what you mean, because those who mind don’t matter, and those that matter don’t mind.“ — Dr. Seuss
These simple words are so profound when you take a moment to realize what they are saying. They are an invitation to be exactly who you are, unabashedly, and to put aside the judgment of others in pursuit of doing so.
But these words are a lot easier said, than done!
We all know that we should eat more fruits and vegetables. So I am not telling you anything you don’t know! The question is why are they so good for you? There are many scientific studies that have shown why these foods are so important to our overall health. Even Popeye knew that spinach was going to save the day!
Yoga classes, smoothies, and inspirational articles will give you a daily dose of wellness, but retreating to a new setting to be empowered with other women breathes new light into your life.
I’ve led and attended wellness experiences, yoga retreats, and spa getaways. Each has a unique way of transporting me out of my head and into my heart. I’ve also felt the energy of being in women’s circles and enjoyed renewed strength when I connect with a diverse group of women and their unique spirits. I know firsthand that magic happens in these spaces.
This ladies-only camp experience comes complete with yoga, meditation, hiking, kayaking, acupuncture and more.

Ladies, ladies, ladies: Go ahead and clear your schedules for May 12th through 14th. That, my friends, is when the ladies behind Rise Gatherings will be putting on their very first “women’s transformative adult summer camp experience” at Camp Canadensis in the Poconos, about two hours from Philly. And the whole thing sounds like something I made up in a dream. Think: a weekend filled with waterfall hikes, rock climbing, yoga, vision and goal-setting workshops, 305 dance fitness classes (YASSS), and no boys allowed. I think that calls for another YASSSS.
